This story is a satirical tale about Humpty Dumpty's life throughout the year, reimagined as a parody that offers a fresh perspective on life's challenges. I wrote it for a paperback children's book available on Amazon.
The purpose of the story is to teach young children to think about life and the importance of considering the consequences of their behavior. It’s humorous and enjoyable for all ages, from children to adults. This is the full version for your enjoyment.
This parody follows the life of Humpty Dumpty as he sits on his wall throughout all four seasons of the year, paying little attention to planning his future.
Humpty Dumpty usually had a good life, although I never could understand why he spent much of it just sitting there on top of that wall.
It was amazing that he managed to get through life as well as he did. He had his worries, and at times, he was miserable and frightened.
However, he always had a positive attitude, especially in one special season, as you will soon discover. I will tell you how he felt during each season of the year.
Humpty hated the winter because it was so cold that water would freeze and turn to slippery ice on the top of his wall — right where he sat!
He often would slip off his wall because of the slippery ice.
You may have heard that Mr. Dumpty could never stay on his wall very long.
Springtime wasn’t much better, despite the warmer weather.
Humpty was always worried that no one would be around during the spring to help him.
He knew that all the king’s horses and all the king’s men would go away on spring break.
They wouldn’t be around to put Humpty together again when he fell off his wall.
You see? Eggs had a tendency to break when they fell. I guess that’s Humpty’s version of “Spring Break.”
It gets way too hot in the summertime, at least for eggs.
Humpty Dumpty always worried that he would get hard-boiled lying out there under the hot sun.
Maybe in the late afternoon, when the sun is setting on the horizon, and Humpty’s wall creates a shadow, he could climb down behind it with a ladder and stay in the shade.
Now, that’s an idea!
However, being that he’s an egg, Humpty isn’t too smart, and he doesn’t think of solutions like that to solve problems in life.
He really should consider some goals for his future. Don’t you think so?
He just sits there on that high wall — all through the day and all the night — season after season.
He just lets random things happen to him rather than create a secure life for himself.
Maybe he doesn’t have any desires or wishes. After all, he is just an egg and doesn’t care much to build a better life.
He doesn’t seem to think about achieving any goals.
Is it possible that he doesn’t have any feelings of self-worth?
There are signs of struggle, but when you look closer at his life, Humpty Dumpty is a good egg. He never hurts anyone. He never asks for attention. No one ever said anything bad about him.
Humpty may tend to be glum throughout the winter, spring, and summer seasons.
But you know what? Of all the seasons . . .
Humpty Dumpty had a great fall.
