Making long-term decisions is crucial for a well-planned life, similar to the game of chess.

We need well-thought-out strategies to achieve our goals, and the game of chess shares similar characteristics in terms of getting from point A to point B. We need to look ahead to plan a perfect future, just like playing chess.

My dad taught me how to play chess at an early age. I learned to look ahead several moves to decide the best strategy. However, I never realized how valuable that approach is when applied to real-life situations.

Sure, people plan their lives. We plan our careers, choose our partners, and decide whether to get married. We consider the best location to settle down, and invest in real estate or just rent. Hey, we even choose our friends!

All those decisions are related to personal feelings and desires. But how often are they established on the fundamental analysis of how each decision opens doors for other choices to be selected? It’s helpful to know how it turns out when the future eventually arrives.

It’s crucial to visualize each step in one’s mind to develop a vision of how it leads to the future. That could help one make progress with better decisions in life, just like playing a game of chess.

The future will eventually happen! How we get there is the strategy. So, make it worthwhile.
